Meet Alison Lihalakha
Alison Hồng Nguyễn Lihalakha grew up in Florida and Kansas before heading to the West Coast and then settling in Hawaii. Her professional career has included legal advocacy, contract management, and real estate sales, but her favorite roles were within education, particularly as a library aide. She has spent the past ten years living abroad with her husband and children. In Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and most recently the Republic of Korea, she made friends and explored new customs and cultures while sharing her own. Alison is the author of Salted Plums and ABCs of Arabia.
Hi! It’s me, Alison.
So that’s my official bio you just read. It’s all the usual stuff, but who am I really?
I’m a wife and mother. Most days I’m happy with my crew and I love them dearly. Other days, I wonder why I signed up for this craziness. That’s normal, right?
My pastime pursuits include baking (I especially enjoy making cookies and trying new sourdough recipes), hiking, snorkeling, and catching up on my tall stack of must-read books. New Zealand and Iceland are two places I have yet to visit that remain at the top of my destinations list. I love flowers and gardening, but I’m not gifted with a green thumb. I have a soft spot for service dogs and had the honor of knowing two retired K9s when I lived in Saudi Arabia.
Thanks for stopping by to learn more about me.
Cheers,
Alison
